Starting to write an essay is you wondering what the rules for writing it? I have a surprise – no rules, just have a title. And everything else is your thoughts and experiences filed a subject, written in an original way.

The structure of the essay is arbitrary – you can start with the thesis at the beginning or have no introduction. You can start with the arguments and then formulate the problem.

Now I will list the common mistakes when writing an essay:

  • Do not leave “hanging phrases” – these are phrases without an argument. You wrote a nice thought, but it is not related to the idea of your topic or it is not placed in the right place in your text. Separate new paragraphs when you start a new part of the essay.
  • Do not use clichés – the essay is new, show what you can. If you defend an idea, 100 times protected, you do not expect high praise. Focus on a new aspect, show a new vision. You have to intrigue the reader.
  • Do not be verbose – you probably have a task for a certain number of words. You have to fit in them and your subject is complete. Discard some details, do not distract the reader.
  • Do not use long phrases – think you will show how smart you are if you use long phrases – no! So you confuse the reader and miss the most important of your thought. Write short sentences
  • Do not use complex words found in the Encyclopedia – there is a risk that you can distract the reader from the main topic or fail if you have not used the correct word.
  • Do not put standard and boring titles – the good title means that you have done your work in half. Already at the beginning, impress the audience and show that you think, they have something to read from you.
  • Do not allow spelling mistakes – when you’re done with the essay, check for spelling mistakes. No one will believe your ideas if it’s written in error.
